Dr. B Sasikala is a dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist with a rich academic background and extensive clinical experience. She holds an MBBS degree, followed by an MD in General Medicine, and further pursued her specialization with a DrNB in Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology.
With a passion for rheumatology, Dr. Sasikala is proficient in managing a wide spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including various types of arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and vasculitis. Her expertise extends to performing essential procedures in rheumatology, such as intra-articular injections (both blinded and ultrasound-guided), lip biopsy, skin biopsy, conchotome-guided muscle biopsy, and nerve biopsy.
Dr. Sasikala’s skills are complemented by her proficiency in musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK USG), enhancing her diagnostic capabilities and treatment precision. Her commitment to advancing knowledge in her field is evident through her involvement in research activities focusing on rheumatology.
To further enrich her expertise, Dr. Sasikala underwent specialized training at NIMS, Hyderabad, spending 15 days each in the departments of Rheumatology, Oncology, Hematology, and Critical Care Medicine. Additionally, she received training in various super-specialty branches including Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Neurology.
During her residency, Dr. Sasikala actively participated in handling medical emergencies in casualty settings and provided critical care to patients in acute medical care units. She also contributed to medical education by teaching undergraduate students during clinics as an assistant professor.
