Dr. Valli Kiran did his MBBS from Mysore Medical College (2001) and Diploma in Psychological Medicine from NIMHANS (2005). He was awarded the DLN Murthy award for the best outgoing student in NIMHANS in the year 2005. He has also done a certificate course in Diabetes Mellitus in 2018, conducted by the Public Health Foundation of India. He has researched on evolutionary models of human behaviour in the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore in 2002-2003 and on the genetic origins of psychiatric disorders in the Molecular Genetics Lab of NIMHANS from 2005 to 2007. He is very passionate in having a deep understanding of human behaviour and is the author of a new theory called the ‘cephalo-caudal theory of human behaviour’. He specialises in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Dr. Valli Kiran worked in the Western Ghats of Kerala for more than 12 years treating patients with all kinds of psychiatric conditions. During this time, he had extensive experience in treating patients with major psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and provided de-addiction treatment for patients with an alcohol addiction. He has a special interest in reaching out to victims of child sexual abuse and empowering them through deep psychotherapy. Finally, he has special interest in psychotherapy for people with personality disorders. He has been working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with SPARSH Hospitals, Mysore Road, since 2020.
