Overview - Orthotic and Prosthetic Services
The department has facilities to provide customised:
- Orthosis: an external device (brace or splint) to support, immobilize, or treat body parts which are weak, deformed, painful or injured (e.g foot drop splint)
- Prosthesis: an external device to replace the missing body part (e.g. artificial limb after amputation surgery)
- Ambulation Aids: External mobility aids which help an individual to restore functional ambulation (e.g. crutch, cane, walker, wheelchair)
